Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
How Findr handles your data, in plain language. Short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell it, this website tracks nothing, and you can have it all deleted whenever you like.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Findr (“Findr”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal data when you use the Findr mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Findr is a social discovery and dating platform. Because users communicate and share photos on the Service, we operate trust and safety measures that may include review of user-generated content, including messages, profile photos, and verification submissions. This policy describes those practices clearly.
Data controller: Findr (operator of the Findr app). Contact: info@findrapp.ch.
2. This Website & the Early-Access Waitlist
This section describes what happens on this website, separately from the app.
What the waitlist form collects
When you join the early-access waitlist, we collect only:
- Your first name, so we can address you properly
- Your phone number, which is how you sign in to Findr and how we recognise your account at launch to unlock your free Premium
- Which form you used and the time of signing up, so we can process sign-ups in order
Purpose: to notify you when Findr launches and to grant the free Premium period to early sign-ups. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by submitting the form. You may withdraw it at any time.
We do not send advertising to your number beyond the launch notification, and we do not pass your number to third parties for their own marketing.
No cookies, no tracking, no analytics
This website sets no cookies and contains no tracking pixels, advertising tags, or analytics tools. We do not profile visitors and we do not build advertising audiences. That is why you see no cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.
Fonts and images are served from our own server, so simply visiting this page does not disclose your IP address to any third party.
Who processes the data
Waitlist entries are stored on Supabase, our hosting and database provider, which acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. Our web host receives the technical connection data (including your IP address) that is unavoidable when delivering any website, and stores it only briefly for security and operation.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist entries until the free-Premium campaign has been carried out, and at most 12 months after launch. After that they are deleted. You can ask us to delete your entry sooner at any time. Write to info@findrapp.ch and we will remove it, no reason needed.
Deleting your entry
Send us the phone number you signed up with from any email address, and we will delete the entry and confirm in writing.
3. Data We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Identity & account: name, date of birth, gender, pronouns, account identifiers
- Contact: email address, phone number
- Profile: photos, bio, interests, preferences, location (city/region), physical attributes you choose to provide
- Communications: direct messages between matched users, group/activity chat messages, and related metadata (timestamps, read status)
- Verification: verification selfies and related session data submitted for manual profile review
- Usage & activity: likes, matches, swipes, activities joined or created, in-app actions
- Safety & moderation: reports you submit, blocks, enforcement actions (warnings, suspensions), and audit records of moderation decisions
- Technical: IP address, device type, operating system, app version, crash/diagnostic logs
- Payments: subscription status and transaction identifiers processed by Apple (we do not receive your full payment card number)
- Marketing preferences: your communication and notification choices
Important: Messages on Findr are not end-to-end encrypted. They are stored on our systems so we can deliver them, operate the Service, and investigate abuse when necessary.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you
- Display profiles, facilitate matching, and enable messaging
- Process profile verification requests and display verification badges
- Send service-related notifications (matches, messages, verification outcomes, moderation notices)
- Improve, personalize, and develop the Service
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, impersonation, and abuse
- Enforce our Terms of Service and community standards
- Respond to user reports and protect user safety
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities
5. Content Moderation & Safety Review
To keep Findr safe, authorized members of our trust and safety team (and automated systems we may deploy) may access, review, and action user content, including:
- Profile photos and bios
- Direct messages and group/activity chat messages
- Verification selfies
- Reports and complaints submitted by users
We do this when reasonably necessary to:
- Investigate a report or safety concern
- Detect violations of our Terms (e.g. harassment, nudity, violence, hate speech, scams, impersonation, suspected underage use)
- Protect users from harm
- Comply with applicable law, including obligations under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) where applicable
- Defend legal claims and maintain platform integrity
Scope and proportionality: We do not routinely read all private messages. Access is limited to what is necessary for the purposes above. Access to moderation tools is restricted to authorized personnel, protected by strong authentication (including two-factor authentication for admin systems), and logged where technically feasible.
Enforcement actions may include content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, permanent account bans, revocation of verification badges, and notification to affected users through the app.
6. Legal Bases for Processing (Switzerland, EEA & UK)
Findr is operated from Switzerland and processing is governed by the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG). Where the GDPR also applies, for example because you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide the Service you request, including your account, matching, messaging, verification, and premium features
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to secure the platform, prevent abuse, moderate content, handle reports, and improve the Service, balanced against your rights
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): where we must retain or disclose data to comply with law or valid authority requests
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where required, e.g. optional marketing communications or certain permissions, withdrawable at any time
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests where applicable. Contact info@findrapp.ch.
7. Data Sharing
We may share personal data:
- With other users: as part of your profile, matches, and messages you send
- With service providers: hosting, authentication, storage, maps, and payment processing, all under data processing agreements. We use no advertising or analytics providers.
- For legal reasons: if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- In business transfers: merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their independent marketing.
8. Third-Party Services
We use Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage), Apple (in-app purchases and App Store distribution), and, when configured, Mapbox (maps). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. Their privacy policies govern their own practices.
9. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security on user data, and restricted admin access with multi-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:
- Account data: for the life of your account
- Messages: while your account is active and as needed to deliver the Service; longer where required for open reports, investigations, or legal holds
- Reports & moderation records: typically up to 3 years after resolution, or longer if required by law or ongoing disputes
- Verification selfies: for the duration of the verification process and a limited period thereafter for audit and dispute resolution, then deleted or anonymized
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or legitimate safety/legal needs.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. Exercising these rights is free of charge.
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC/EDÖB), in the EEA or UK your national data protection authority.
To exercise your rights, contact info@findrapp.ch. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
12. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (including within the EU/EEA and potentially the United States, depending on our infrastructure providers). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
13. Children's Privacy
Findr is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account and delete associated data promptly.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the latest revision.
